Cafe Botanikal, Ayer Keroh Melaka

Cafe Botanikal, Ayer Keroh, Melaka (bertentangan dengan Zoo Melaka), ini pertama kali kami masuk ke restoran ni. Sebelum ini ada terbaca di internet tentang banyak review positif pasal restoran ini. Tak salah kalau mencuba... Hari Sabtu lepas balik Melaka untuk tengok projek rumah kami di kampung. Jadi saya rasa sesuai kalau kami sekeluarga berbuka di restoran ini.

Harga bufet ramadhan mereka RM32 untuk dewasa dan RM20 kanak-kanak. Makanannya memang sangat ok. Ada nasi putih, nasi minyak (tak pasti nasi apa sebenarnya, nampak macam nasi minyak), lauk pauk beranika jenis dari ayam, ikan, ketam, daging, sayur dan bermacam jenis ulam-ulaman. Selain itu terdapat 'gerai-gerai' menyediakan char-kuey-teow, ikan, udang, kerang dan lala bakar. Juga terdapat satay yang panas-panas dibakar dan tak ketinggalan kambing golek yang memang panjang orang beratur... Selain dari itu ada bermacam jenis kuih-muih, kek, cendol, ais-krim dan teh tarik.

Minta maaf la, gambar-gambar makanan tak sempat nak snap. Sampai kat sana pun dah pukul tujuh lebih. Orang pulak boleh tahan ramainya. Terus je pergi serbu makanan, tak tengok lain dah...

Kesimpulannya, memang berbaloi dengan RM yang dibayar. Makanannya puas hati, tempat pun luas dan selesa. Surau ada disediakan. Parking banyak, tandas bersih. Lepas tu siap ada live show kumpulan ghazal lagi. Satu yang saya paling puji restoran ni, walaupun ramai orang dan makanan sekejap je clear... tapi makanan yang dah habis pasti akan di reload lagi. Walaupun tak ditambah serta merta, pelanggan yang lambat atau belakang que tak perlu risau, pasti ditambah lagi mana yang dah habis. Tak macam kat sesetengah tempat tu, bila ramai orang, lepas tu makanan pulak habis, jawabnya... nasib le.

Building A Small House - 8th Update

Progress as at 13/08/2011

Happy Ramadhan al-mubarak everyone. Up to last Saturday Muslim have been fasting for 13 days. May all of us get blessing and forgiveness from Allah s.w.t during this holy month. 

Last Saturday went back to Melaka to see our on going project there. Since kids are all fasting, decided to leave from KL only after Zohor so that they wont feel too exhausted as the weather was quite hot that day.

The house is almost complete. Floors already fully tiled and walls are all painted. Doors are installed. Next Monday they will install windows. Only then they can fit in bathroom equipments and accessories. Piping and drainage works are also done. Two things that beyond our control are water and electricity supply. However people from TNB and Syarikat Bekalan Air Melaka Bhd already came to do their assessment works. Hopefully soon we will get the supplies.

Just for a comparison... look pretty much identical right? Built this using sketchUp, and this is the drawing that came out after some consultations with Mr. Edi himself, and it was just minutes before we agreed to hand him over with this project. I gave a copy of this to him. Including complete outside and inside 3D view of the house. I think it helped us so much in describing specifically what is in my mind and what he is going to build.

Looks like we have to plant a medium size tree somewhere infront of the house to give some shade to the verandah from the evening sunlight.

We are building new fence. The earlier fence built by another contractor was not tough enough. Most of the pillars broken at its lower part. So we have to strengthen it by building additional wall about three feets high.

Looks like our initial wish to celebrate first day of Aidilfitri this year at Melaka is quite impossible, but we still feel relief as the project is paced inline with the plan. However our contractor Mr. Edi is still very positive that everything is to complete before hari raya. But, eventhough they finish their work before hari raya, we just feel that we wont have enough time and energy to clean the house and make things up during this fasting month. Moreover, we still have time to spend there even after hari raya... InsyaAllah.
